Iceberg and Romaine lettuce tossed with green onions, celery, candied almonds and Mandarin oranges
¼ C almonds, sliced 4 tsp sugar ¼ lettuce, head, torn into bite-size pieces ¼ Romaine lettuce, torn into bite-size pieces 2 med celery stalks, chopped (about 1 cup) 2 green onions, with tops, thinly sliced (about 2 tablespoons) 1-11 oz mandarin oranges, canned, drained Sweet-Sour Dressing
Cook almonds and sugar over low heat, stirring constantly, until sugar is melted and almonds are coated. Spread on ungreased cookie sheet immediately. Cool and break apart; store at room temperature. Place lettuce and romaine in a large bowl; add celery and green onions. Toss. When ready to serve, add Mandarin oranges and candied almonds to the salad; toss with Sweet-Sour Dressing.
